Who refers to oneself as “I” in one’s head (i.e. “I must remember to pick up the milk”) and who refers to oneself as “you” (i.e. “You have to pick up the milk” or “Don’t forget to pick up the milk”)?

I’m an “I”, but someone told me a month or two ago this is fairly uncommon.  I’m curious if that’s true.  Thoughts?

  1. Implied you.

“Remember to do that shit you need to do.”

    “Don’t drink too much.”

    “Drink too much.”

    You get the idea.
